In the summer of 2024, Mattel listed a life sized, 42 foot Polly Pocket compact on Airbnb as part of an official Icon experience celebrating the toy's 35th anniversary one of the most globally covered brand activations of the year. Pacsun was the exclusive apparel partner for that moment, and I led all graphic design direction for the collection.

The creative brief was deceptively simple and genuinely hard: how do you take an object that lived in the palm of a child's hand in the 1990s and turn it into something a Gen Z actually wants to wear today? Working within Mattel's full licensing and approval framework character likeness standards, style guide constraints, multi level sign off I developed original typography, custom logotype treatments, and character driven graphics pulled directly from vintage Polly Pocket toy references. The standout graphic was a "peeking Polly" pocket tee a concept rooted in the toy's core mechanic, translated into something wearable that felt genuinely fresh rather than simply nostalgic. Bold colorblocking, relaxed silhouettes, crop tees, bralettes, tanks, hoodies, and shorts rounded out the range.

The collection sold out at the pop-up activation, with Pacsun serving as the sole fashion partner for the entire campaign. The Airbnb experience itself was covered globally across entertainment, lifestyle, and design press placing Pacsun's exclusive apparel at the center of one of Mattel's biggest cultural moments of the decade.
